For just a brief moment, experience the transformation of the small but mighty Yahara River running through our urban neighborhood into a celebration of water, art, and music!
Costume up yourselves; dress up your boat, your kids, and the dog too. Float from the dam at Lake Mendota to Yahara Place Park, site of the Marquette Waterfront Festival sponsored by the Marquette Neighborhood Association. Bring some instruments and play along with the floating bands! Prizes awarded for the most foolish of fools among you.
We'll meet at 9:30am to get decorated and set up. Then we'll start putting in the water around 10:15am.
Meet at Tenney Park. Use the parking lot along Thornton Avenue just below the Sherman Street bridge (not the ice skating parking lot). Arrive with your boats and bodies already decorated, or decorate on –site (bring your own supplies).
No cost and no registration required. Just show up!
Thank you Wisconsin Canoe Company, we have a limited number of canoes for rent. If you don't have a boat, rent one from us to float down the river! All proceeds benefit River Alliance programs.
Order your Fools' Flotilla t-shirts here and pick them up at the Flotilla on June 11th!
Thank you to our generous event sponsors!
