Grassroots Organizing
Bringing people together and empowering them to effect change is the thread that weaves through all the work we do. There truly is power in numbers, and the fate of the state’s rivers depends upon citizens getting involved, staying involved and making sure their voices are heard. Whether it’s a local decision about a development that might impact a specific river, the fate of an old dam, planning for future community growth or promoting sound state laws, it takes a broad range of informed citizens carrying a consisent message to get the job done. Our signature approach is to provide information and options so that citizens can decide their best course, help local groups understand who is responsible for decision making and how to influence the process and outcome, and provide support and train citizens to be confident advocates.
