“The array of people here, their commitment and energy was awesome. I feel energized and hopeful. The variety of activities was broad with plenty of depth.”

“This was a great learning and motivating experience. I knew you existed but I wasn’t aware of the level of commitment and excitement that your organization pulled together.”

Friends of Wisconsin State Parks and the River Alliance of Wisconsin and our many cosponsors invite you to our 2006 conference Conservation in Common – Actions and Strategies to Protect Your Rivers, Parks and Trails. We have developed this conference especially for individuals and local, citizen-based organizations interested in protecting their local watersheds and state parks – conservationists, activists, hikers, anglers, paddlers and others. Conservation in Common will offer hands-on seminars and workshops designed to meet your individual or organization’s needs, whether you are an old pro or new to conservation. Perhaps most importantly, it will provide you with ample opportunities to meet and learn from your peers around the state.

Join us as we celebrate Wisconsin’s rivers, parks and trails, teach and learn from each other, and find new ways to work together for the protection of Wisconsin’s natural resources. Conservation in Common is a training and networking opportunity. You will learn about particular conservation techniques for land and river conservation, get to know land and river enthusiasts from your region and from around the state, and explore ways to work together for conservation. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy live music, guided hikes and much more!

This year’s conference will be held in two different locations – one in southern Wisconsin ( Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest) and one in northern Wisconsin (Rhinelander), to facilitate your attendance and allow local organizations to send a greater number of representatives to this training and networking event.
